Upcoming committee roles

Start date: 12th July 2022

End date: 22nd September 2022

As many of you know, Naunton Park Pre-School is run as a charity, and is overseen by a Committee of volunteer officers and trustees. This Committee works as a team to run Pre-School’s financial and administrative affairs, as well as to support the staff and organise fundraising.

As current members’ children are now moving on from the Pre-School, a number of key officer roles will become available in September 2022: Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. We are also looking for a trustee to provide IT support. You can find out more about these roles here.

We would welcome upcoming, current or past parents to the Committee, but would also be very open for others in the community to join. So do feel free to share with any family or friends who might be interested – perhaps a grandparent or neighbour.

Getting involved is a brilliant way to meet others locally, as well as to support the Pre-School and (by providing opportunities for children) the wider community.

If you would like to find out more or have any questions, please email secretary@nauntonpark.co.uk

New seating area opening

Date: 8th May 2022

Time: 10.30am

An artist’s impression of the completed seating area

Come and join us at the opening event for our new seating area on Sunday 8th May at 10.30am.

The new seating area, surrounded by planters, will provide a space for play and story reading, encouraging the children to spend more time in a green space, as well as increasing biodiversity in the playground. The project has been kindly funded by a County Council grant, supported by Councillor Paul Baker, alongside generous donations from Willans LLP solicitors and The Rotary Club of Cheltenham.

Now it’s been built, we’re ready to fill it with beautiful plants and we’d love your help. The event is a chance to meet other Pre-school families, help your children plant some greenery in the new seating area …. and eat cake!

Spotlight on our sponsors

Willans logo

Willans LLP solicitors: Willans LLP solicitors is based in the heart of Cheltenham and provides people, businesses, charities and not-for-profit organisations with personal, practical and expert legal advice.

Celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Willans is an active member of the Gloucestershire community, supporting several local initiatives every year – from charity fundraising and awards sponsorship, to events such as the Cheltenham Literature Festival.

Recently, Willans became the first law firm to pledge its support to CheltenhamZero, to help the town reach net zero emissions by the year 2030. It also has a green committee in place to champion its environmental policies.

Speaking about the firm’s involvement with the project, managing partner Bridget Redmond, said: “We’re delighted to support the new seating area at Naunton Park Pre-school Playgroup. Over the years, many people living in the Naunton Park area have been clients of Willans, so this feels like a direct way to say “thank you” and to give something back to them and their families. We hope that it will greatly benefit not only the children who attend, but the wider community and local environment.”

Rotary Club of Cheltenham logo

The Rotary Club of Cheltenham: The Rotary Club of Cheltenham was founded in 1921 and is still going strong. One of their key focuses is support of young people. To further this aim they have, for example, provided financial assistance to schools using the Life Education facility and also helped with reading practice at a number of local schools. “We are delighted to help Naunton Park Pre-school with the refurbishment of its outside space and send our best wishes for success in the future,” said Paul Clark, Benevolent Fund Treasurer.

Don’t worry if you didn’t enter a window, you can still take part in the trail. Download the map using the link below and make a donation via PayPal (details in the link). Once you’ve cast your vote, you’ll be entered into an extra prize draw to win a hamper which includes a £20 voucher for the beautiful Once Upon a Tea Room in Pittville and your child can collect a bag of sweets from the grotto.
